Endoscopic Pilonidal Sinus Treatment (EPSIT) Vs Total Excision with Primary Closure (EPC) for Pilonidal Sinus Disease in Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi

Objective: To compare endoscopic pilonidal sinus treatment (EPSIT) vs total excision with primary closure (EPC) for disease in Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi regarding intra and post-operative outcomes.
 Study Design: Comparative cross-sectional.
 Place Duration of Study: Department Surgery, Rawalpindi, from Sep 2017 to Aug 2018.
 Methodology: A 94 patients, all male patients were included. All have sinus; Patient randomized a double-blind study undergo EPSiT or EPC by non-probability, consecutive sampling into two equal groups.
 Results: The mean ± age SD was 28 years 2.6 years. completed the follow-up. divided equally EPC. Surgery duration median 34.5 minutes (IQR 30-39) 40.5 35-46); hospital stay 8.5 hours 4-14) EPSIT 21.5 15-28) Complete wound healing 93.6% 81%. Wound complication rate lower 3 (6.3%) 8 (17%) (p-value 0.108). One case dehiscence reported Recurrence occurred 3(6.3%) 9(19.1%).
 Conclusions: In our experience, viable as sinus.
